Back to Nature Cookies

This might possibly be the cookie you've been looking for.


I found these at Sam's club. They came in 3 sealed packages with 8 cookies to a package for around $7. (The package looked a different than the one pictured) The best part is that these are good size cookies for only 3 points. They met my need for sweet but also satisfied me at one cookie! I also felt good knowing they are better for me than my original recipe too.
(I tried the tlc version, and while I LOVE tlc crackers, I liked these cookies much better.)

Trader Joe's "Frozen" Brown Rice


Do you ever avoid making brown rice because it takes longer or because you are the only one who will eat it? I have. I was so happy to find tj's frozen brown rice. It's EASY, it's small portioned and it tastes great! And, it's only around $3 for a box. I am starting to keep this on hand!
Look for it in the frozen section. Each box has 3 pouches which contain 2 cups each (6 cups total per box). You can heat the bags in the microwave, or even toss the contents in directly with veggies in a saute pan.

I thought I'd never buy these!


I've never been a big fan of "fake" meat or any kind of food for that matter. You aren't going to see soy burgers in this girl's grocery cart! But, the other day costco was sampling veggie patties and I tried it. No fake meat, just veggies. I must admit, to my surprise, I liked it! Yeah, a new food to add to my menu options. I don't know that my family will go for it but it will make some easy lunches for me.

The best way to describe them: Like the filling from a freshly made egg roll taken out and fried in a pan. Even a little crunch with sunflower seeds add to the celery, onion, carrots, bell pepper and bread crumbs. 3 ww pts. So, anyone game to try these?

Turkey Spam?

I must admit, I was reluctant to try it. I even like regular spam! In the interest of health and variety and broke down and bought some. Surprisingly, it tasted quite similar. I liked it. I've had it on a 1 pt bagel thin and a 1 point sandwich thin. Both are good.(I think it's best toasted with mustard)
So, 2 slices of spam (2/12)and 1- 1pt bread= 3 pts

I neglected to add a salad or fruit and ate 1/2 of the "regular" sandwhich I made for my husband that he wouldn't try. Bad move. His bread was 2 pts per slice, and buttered. So, I ate 5 more pts worth and truly it wasn't that much better. Lesson learned!
